Nature and Objectives of the Association 

The objectives of the Association, also known as "MIT Alumni Club of Italy" are as follows:
  • Offer interesting programs linked to MIT activities to Alumni, their relatives, present and potential MIT students.
  • Offer  a communication channel among members and between members and MIT.
  • Inform periodically members on objectives, academic programs and activities of MIT.
  • Help spread information on MIT in Italy through any initiative deemed appropriate by the Directors.
  • Organise meetings between members and MIT faculty visiting Italy.
  • Promote meetings, round tables, seminars, between members and with members of the scientific, economic, cultural and political communities.
  • Be a contact point to anyone intending to use MIT services.
The Association is a non-profit and non-political organisation. Three categories of members are envisaged by the by-laws:
  • Ordinary members
  • Institutional members
  • MIT - Liaison members 
Ordinary members are individuals who have graduated, obtained a degree, taken a number of courses or undertaken research at MIT or who have professional links with MIT and who have paid the annual fees to the Club.
They are entitled to partecipate to members' general assemblies and exercise their voting rights at such meetings.
Institutional members are companies, associations or organisations, approved by the Directors, who have paid the annual dues to the Club. They each nominate an individual as their representative.
MIT - Liaison members are individuals, approved by the Directors, who have joined the Club although they do not have links to MIT required of Ordinary members.
Representatives of Institutional members and MIT - Liaison members may partecipate to all Club activities but cannot attend ordinary members' general assemblies.
